STORY ACT
The Idea
STORY-ACT stands for “Stories for Change: Empowering Youth Voices” and is designed as an Erasmus+ KA154-YOU Youth Participation Activities project. The main objective of STORY-ACT is to empower young people, especially those with fewer opportunities, through storytelling, media literacy, and digital creativity. By turning personal experiences into multimedia stories, the project helps youth strengthen their voices, build civic engagement skills, and participate more actively in their communities. At the same time, STORY-ACT promotes intercultural dialogue between Austria, Romania, Türkiye, and Spain, while creating long-term impact through local storytelling clubs, a digital campaign, and an open-access Storytelling Toolkit.
The Activities
Four organisations from Austria, Romania, Türkiye, and Spain collaborate over the project period to involve 56 young people aged 18–25, with an additional reach of at least 300 local youth through follow-up workshops and dissemination activities. The project is built around three international learning experiences and a series of local multiplier actions. In Austria, participants explore personal digital storytelling and create their first polished multimedia outputs, such as videos, podcasts, or blogs. In Romania, the focus shifts to advocacy-oriented storytelling, where young people work collaboratively on multimedia stories connected to community issues. In Türkiye, participants join a study visit on civic storytelling, combining field visits, workshops, and practice with community-based storytelling approaches.
Alongside the international mobilities, STORY-ACT includes local storytelling workshops, peer-sharing sessions, and a digital campaign that will publish at least 60 youth-created stories. The project concludes with national storytelling festivals and exhibitions in each partner country, where participants present their work, engage local stakeholders, and support policy dialogue. A final Storytelling Toolkit, available in English and partner languages, will ensure that the methods and results remain accessible after the project ends.

Mobility 2 – Storytelling in Action
Mobility 3 – Civic Storytelling Study Visit
4. Local Workshops, Digital Campaign and Final Storytelling Events
This international mobility focuses on personal digital storytelling. Young participants learn how to turn their own experiences, ideas, and perspectives into creative multimedia outputs such as videos, podcasts, and blogs. Through workshops and practical sessions, they build confidence in self-expression, strengthen communication skills, and explore how storytelling can be used as a tool for participation and social change.
This mobility is centered on collaborative and advocacy-oriented storytelling. Participants work together to create multimedia stories connected to community issues and topics that matter to young people. The activity helps them develop teamwork, critical thinking, media-production skills, and a stronger understanding of how stories can raise awareness, inspire dialogue, and support civic engagement.
This mobility is designed as a study visit focused on community-based and civic storytelling practices. Participants explore good examples of storytelling used for social participation through field visits, discussions, and practical workshops. The aim is to help young people understand how storytelling can influence communities, encourage participation, and connect creative expression with active citizenship.
After the international mobilities, participants continue their involvement through local storytelling workshops, peer-sharing activities, and the creation of new multimedia content. Their stories are further developed and shared through a digital campaign of videos, podcasts, and blogs. The project also includes public storytelling events and exhibitions, where young people present their work, engage their communities, and promote dialogue around youth voices and participation.
